Tata Group is set to become first Indian company to manufacture Apple iPhones. Tata Group is building its iPhone assembly plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The Tata Group bought Wistron’s Indian operations, including a plant near Bengaluru, to manufacture iPhones. The company is also hiring more people at its assembly center Hosur. It is expected to have 20 assembly lines and can employ 50,000 workers within two years. And, expected to be operational within 12 to 18 months.
Tata is also planning to open 100 retail Apple stores dedicated to Apple products for sale in India. Apple is reportedly getting away from China and planning to diversify its operations in India, Malaysia, Thailand, and more places.
